Hello Peaches! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend. I had one of the best weekends ever. In my family the Fourth of July is a big deal and I mean a BIG deal!! So naturally since I was young, this has been and continues to be one of my all time favorite holidays. We pack up our car-fulls and head up north(west) an hour and a half from the Twin Cities to our family lake house. Here, this place is filled with food, fun, and a lot of shenanigans. This year we kept many traditions going and we had some new adventures too. We had lots of yard games going like bags, redneck frisbee (I’ll have a post going into more detail about this), and soccer. We also woke up and went paddle boarding, kayaking, and boating. One of my favorite things to do is diving and doing tricks off of the front of our pontoon like belly flops, can openers, and jumping through the center of my blow up donut floaty haha…for some reason we were entertained by doing that more than the average adult probably should be lol. Maybe, that is why I like the lake so much though, because it has the potential to bring out the inner kid in any body. To cap it all off we always have amazing food, grilled hotdogs and burgers, marinated seafood, and lots of other things. In my pictures you can see a little bit of our spread where I made an American Flag out of strawberries and greek yogurt covered cranberries, there also is carrot cupcakes covered in red, white, and blue sprinkles, and finally my drink of choice this weekend was a premixed sparkling rum with coconut water that I put over ice with a few berries (blueberries, raspberries, and cherries to keep the color scheme going) . Anyways, back to reality I go (aka back to the cities!) Enjoy lovelies!
